The last week!!! Dive #29, #30 and Day 10 at the gym

We had a great weekend visit from the rest of our family.  Phil brought the kids and the dog up on Friday evening and they left Sunday afternoon.  We had a few meals out and some time at the pool.  I got a break from the spaceship while Phil took the boys.  That's right, I said boys.  Ben, our oldest son joined Will in the spaceship this weekend.  He hurt his ankle in an 4 wheeler accident last week.  A trip to the ER said it was a sprain.  HBOT can heal sprains and fractures 63% faster.  Since they were already planning a trip to KC, we thought we would see what the oxygen could do for him.

Happy Boy!

Our friends The Motley's were in town for a softball tournament, so we met for lunch!

Our happy Family!!

Dive #29

This dive was a little rough.  Mr. Austin slept the whole time, but Miss Josie did not!  She was not happy from the get go.  Which meant it only took a minute for her friend Will to get upset!  It lasted quite awhile too.  They both finally calmed down...thank Goodness!

Day 10 (Monday of the final week!)

I can't believe it's the final week of therapy.  It really does go by fast.  I was really afraid Will was going to be tired from all that crying he did in the chamber.  He did show a little fatigue but overall he did well.  Because of his fatigue Miss Tiffany tried the hat part of the suit.  In the past he has worn the vest and pants but this time he's gone without it, until today.  Will's ataxia gets worse when he's tired.  He can control it, but it is very hard for him to do that constantly so the hat will help him be more aware of when he's head is wobbly so he can fix it!  Pretty cool!

Will wasn't sure what to think about his new look, but he didn't mind it!  The next video is knee walking.  Will is slowly improving on this.  Not the easiest thing for him to do.

Will chose to stay in the gym today and work on the little stairs.  He made progress this time by getting a head start on Miss Tiffany.  I think he was distracted by the minion talk!

Will is getting pretty good on his canes.  Just when you think he's going to bite the dust...he saves himself!

Moving on to the train tracks.  If you remember Will used to bend way down when reaching for the other side.  Watch how that has changed.  Go back and look at videos from Week 1 if you don't remember.  It's a significant amount of progress!

See how tall he's standing!  Yay Will!  Now watch what happens when he drops a train car.

Mr. Will ended the day walking for some spectators!  Miss Julie and Mr. Austin saw him walking so they stood by the gym door and watched.

They were both impressed!  Mr. Austin said "Awesome".  After his accident, he had to learn to walk all over again so he knows how hard this is.  Thanks for the support Austin and Julie!

Dive #30
Miss Josie was happy!  Yay!  If Josie's happy, we're all happy!  Austin slept again!  I got some good reading time in!

The Final Week! A fun filled weekend with family and dives 27 &28

Happy Monday!  It's week 3.  We're almost finished.  Will is ready to go home.  He is missing his Daddy, (and he just saw him yesterday!). Phil and the kids came in Friday night and stayed until yesterday afternoon.  We filled the weekend with as much as we could!  Two movies (me and big kids), 3 dives (Will and his daddy), indoor skydiving (Ben and Isabel), and church (together!)!  Together again!  My kiddos!  Will's waving to the camera! All the happy divers...Phil, Grandma Linda, Mason (front and center!) Josie and Will! I had a fun surprise for Ben and Isabel!  Indoor Skydiving!  They LOVED it!  Score one for MOM!  It was fun to watch.  Will said he's going to do it next time!  I might just try it too!   They take you out once to let you figure it out and then give you a second flight to go much higher! The first video shows Isabel's first flight, the instructor said sh...

Hello Friday!!! Dives 36 and 37

Dive 36- Josie and Will.  Started the day with another dose and oxygen and Mickey Mouse! Our last solo workout in Miss Tiffany's gym.  We skipped the yoga today and went right for the stairs.  Will grabbed his canes and some friends and got started.  As he was walking it occurred to me how often I took for granted when Ben and Isabel went walking across the floor with toys in their hands.  Just think about that for a minute...then watch this video! He carried Mario and Luigi to the stairs.  I carried them up the stairs and then he proceeded to throw them down.  Typical kiddo! After getting hurled down the stairs now poor Mario has to be thrown in a hoop!  Poor guy! He threw all of Mario's friends in the basket too.   Then he made his way across the room to leave Miss Tiffany one last message.  He made it about halfway when he fell, but you know Will, he got right up and finished the job! I think Will enjoy...

Week 3, Tuesday, Dives 29 & 30

Dive 29- Mr. Will and Josie.  Mickey Mouse, our morning ritual! After the dive Will headed over to Miss Tiffany's gym.  I guess we'll stick around, he likes working in there!  He basically set the whole day up, I only added one thing!  He started himself on the stairs.  I just stood back and filmed! Rock on , Mr. Will! This next thing I added.  The next time you get up from sitting (in a chair for example) think about what all goes into that. I think this will be something he could master when we come back this summer!  By the way, Miss Tiffany will be back for that one!   Back to Will's plan.  He didn't want me to video him getting into position but I thought it showed a lot of good work on Will's part.  Pulling yourself on a scooter is an amazing workout!   Now for the "real" video.  Will set up all the pins and now he is kicking them over, according to his plan! Miss Cheryl poppe...
