Will and his new hobby...

Ok, you may not see any potential here, but I am impressed!  A few weeks ago we had a tailgating party at Ben and Isabel's school followed by a volleyball game in the brand new gym!  The tailgate party is something they do every year to kick off the school year.  It's usually held in Fr. Tom's driveway, weather permitting.  All the families are assigned either a side dish or a dessert and the school board grills hot dogs.  It's a fun family event.  This year Sacred Heart was able to show off the new gym with a couple volleyball games!  Here's the gym...and a bit of Will's work!  (like the angle?) He's a photographer!  Mr. Will wasn't enjoying the volleyball game too much so I gave him my camera so he could look at the pictures that I had taken.  Pretty soon he was snapping away!  This one is my favorite!  I wish I had a picture of him taking this picture!  It was so fun to see him discover his f...

Soccer!

Miss Isabel decided she would play soccer this year.  She played when she was in Kindergarten but when 1st grade sign ups came around she said she didn't want to play.  When I asked her why, she said..."It's just too much running!".  Then when sign ups came in second grade, she thought she might like it again.  Well, we signed her up and then she decided that she didn't want to play after all.  Practices hadn't even started yet so we let her quit.  Many of her friends were playing though and I think once the season really got started, she regretted her decision.  So here we are, a year later and  Izzy (as she's starting to use these days) is playing soccer in the third grade!  There is still a lot of running, which she's still not crazy about, but hey...she's playing!

What a difference a hair cut makes!

I've always been a sucker for little boys with curls.  Ben was 14 months before he had his first haircut and I only made that appointment because Phil made me!  Ben had a head full of curly hair until that dreaded day...no more curls after that!  :(                      Ben around 11 months old...with beautiful curls!   When Will's hair started to come in and I started to see those same curls I was on a mission to protect them!  Every time he went for a haircut I would tell Miss Debbie...just a trim.  This worked for three years!  As Will got older though, the curls became looser.  Soon the "just a trim" visits only lasted a week or so and he was in need of another trim!  I finally had to come to grips with the fact that Will was going to have to have a big boy cut.            ...

Grapes on the Grass

I realized a few days ago that I never posted anything about Therapeutic Horsemanship's polo match fundraiser!  Am I a slacker or what?!  So...a few weeks ago we attended our second polo match (ever).  Last year we found out about the polo match right after Will started therapy at TH.  We thought we would go, check it out and see what it was all about.  We had a fabulous time!  It was Phil, myself, Ben, Isabel and Will and my sister, Katie, her husband and her two boys.  None of us had ever been to a polo match before so we really didn't know what we were in for.  We had the best time!  Ben and Isabel loved it!  The rest of the kids were a bit too young to sit and watch, but they had a great time too!  We packed a picnic lunch and a couple bottles of wine and had a lovely day! Fast forward a year...Polo this year was a bit different...in a good way!  We talked it up so much over the year that a lot of pe...
