Will woke up early this morning. He laid in bed until 6:30 but I don't think he slept after 5:30. I was nervous about what that might mean for his day.
Dive 23- Will was a little more active this time. He requested Team Umizoomi but it didn't hold his interest like Doc MuStuffins does! He was flying Buzz all over the place. When we were "landing" and it was ear popping time, Will asked me to fly Buzz instead. He had me doing loop-de-loops and flips and everything that Miss Tiffany does in the gym. He thought it was hilarious (his word) when he had me fly Buzz crazy! He would show me what to do by holding his pointer finger out and making zig zag and other unique flight patterns. It was pretty cute.
Later at the gym...
Tiffany thought they would start on the stairs today and "get them over with". I thought this might be her plan so I talked to Will about it over breakfast this morning. I asked him why he didn't like the stairs, but he couldn't answer me. So I went on to tell him that I know he's scared or nervous on the stairs, but that Miss Tiffany would not let him get hurt. I told him if he could go up and down the stairs without crying he would get finished with them a lot quicker. He said..."that sounds like a great idea."
This attitude lasted until they reached the first step. Then the fear set in. I feel bad for him. My heart breaks when I watch him on those stairs. I know though, that it is something he needs to get past. I can't help to think that it might be a fear of heights mixed in with a body he lacks control of. I personally have a great fear of heights. I can't imagine being in a high place with a wobbly, ataxic body that I didn't feel in control of. That would be pretty terrifying. Tiffany and I talked about this for awhile. I think she has a new idea for tomorrow.
So on to other things. Will was a bit "slap happy" today. I guess that's how you would describe it. I told Tiffany I thought his body was tired but his brain was not. He was humming and making up silly songs. He was patting on his body like a drum. Just silliness! Tiffany had a hard time keeping him focused. I don't know if it was his nap yesterday or his early waking this morning. Or it might just be Thursday of the second week!
He did manage to have one very awesome moment though! I will spare you the 3 or 4 part videos this time. Even though if I could show you the whole video I would! I'm just one proud Mama!

I love the "pattern" part.
This was his shining moment of the day. Miss Tiffany was running out of things to do with Buzz because Will stood for 5 minutes and 27 seconds! Major record breaker! He had several fist bumps during that time and saved his balance a few times too. Did you notice that he was showing Tiffany what to do by using that pointer finger just like he had done with me on the spaceship. Too cute!
Dive 24 was a light load. Baby Milleigh went home yesterday. She made great progress during her 35 dives. Will and I were so happy to have Milleigh and her Mommy Jennifer to dive with. I hope she's having fun back home with her big brother and sister. Keep up the good work Milleigh!
Tonight back at the hotel Will fell asleep at 4:50. I tried to wake him up around 5:50 to see if he wanted to eat some dinner. I picked him up and talked to him for a minute, but he laid his head back on my shoulder. I put him in bed and he's still there now. He has done that several times after a full day of school, then going straight to aqua therapy at home, so it's not uncommon. I just hope the extra sleep pays off tomorrow!
