Day 10 at the gym; Dive 25

Oh what a night!
Will woke up at 3:30 a.m. wanting a drink of water.  I got him a drink of water, in a cup with a straw.  Um, big mistake!  He slurped the water down.  A couple minutes later it was coming back up!  He hadn't eaten anything since lunch yesterday and that consisted of a  small handful of strawberries and a cheese stick.  So the logical thing to do was feed him right... so I handed him a few peanut butter crackers and then went back in the bedroom to clean it up.  Mr. Will who was very hungry gobbled down 4 crackers in record time so guess what...they also came up!  Over the next 1 1/2 hours there was a lot of moaning and cleaning up.  Poor Will.  I felt so bad for him and also felt entirely guilty.  I should have done things differently!
He did finally start to feel better.  Whew!  So I sent Captain David a text that we would not be seeing him this morning.  I sent Tiffany one that said I would let her know, then I took Will up stairs with our load of laundry.  Having a sick child in the middle of the night is never fun.  It's even less fun in a hotel!  We survived though!
I asked Will about going to see Miss Tiffany.  He said he wanted to see her, so we headed to the gym a little late.  Tiffany was very easy with Will today, but they still accomplished quite a bit.  She and David had moved the stairs to a new location.  Now they have one side against the wall and on the other side there is a screen blocking Will's view.  She also arranged other pieces of furniture and mats to block the sides, basically anything that would take the heights out of the equation.  She let Will crawl up the stairs to get comfortable with them, but that's all they did today.

 He was still wasn't thrilled.

From there he went to the floor.  Sitting tall was a bit more of a struggle for him today.  He had a hard time staying steady.  At least they got some math in there!

They moved on to sitting on the bench.  Instead of having Will transition from the floor to the bench, today Miss Tiffany let him sit on the bench and grab a beanbag friend to throw.  Will was really zinging these guys today!

From there they went to the cage.  Will stood and threw a ball for awhile, which is did very well.  Then Miss Tiffany tried out something new with him. Introducing the purple horse, whom Will named Galahad. (Mike the Knight anyone!)  He was pretty anxious at first but after a minute or two he enjoyed it very much.

All things considered, Will had an excellent day at the gym.  Now on to the chamber!  Dive 25 went well.  I really thought Will might fall asleep this time.  He even told me he was tired.  I just don't think he can get comfortable in there with that space helmet on.  I tried to roll up a towel and put it behind him but it didn't work out the way I pictured.  I was afraid it was going to drag on, but the time actually went by rather quickly.  After the dive I drove around for awhile until Will fell asleep.  I carried him to his bed, but then work him up an hour later.  I wasn't about to have a repeat of last night!

The Final Week! A fun filled weekend with family and dives 27 &28

Happy Monday!  It's week 3.  We're almost finished.  Will is ready to go home.  He is missing his Daddy, (and he just saw him yesterday!). Phil and the kids came in Friday night and stayed until yesterday afternoon.  We filled the weekend with as much as we could!  Two movies (me and big kids), 3 dives (Will and his daddy), indoor skydiving (Ben and Isabel), and church (together!)!  Together again!  My kiddos!  Will's waving to the camera! All the happy divers...Phil, Grandma Linda, Mason (front and center!) Josie and Will! I had a fun surprise for Ben and Isabel!  Indoor Skydiving!  They LOVED it!  Score one for MOM!  It was fun to watch.  Will said he's going to do it next time!  I might just try it too!   They take you out once to let you figure it out and then give you a second flight to go much higher! The first video shows Isabel's first flight, the instructor said sh...

Hello Friday!!! Dives 36 and 37

Dive 36- Josie and Will.  Started the day with another dose and oxygen and Mickey Mouse! Our last solo workout in Miss Tiffany's gym.  We skipped the yoga today and went right for the stairs.  Will grabbed his canes and some friends and got started.  As he was walking it occurred to me how often I took for granted when Ben and Isabel went walking across the floor with toys in their hands.  Just think about that for a minute...then watch this video! He carried Mario and Luigi to the stairs.  I carried them up the stairs and then he proceeded to throw them down.  Typical kiddo! After getting hurled down the stairs now poor Mario has to be thrown in a hoop!  Poor guy! He threw all of Mario's friends in the basket too.   Then he made his way across the room to leave Miss Tiffany one last message.  He made it about halfway when he fell, but you know Will, he got right up and finished the job! I think Will enjoy...

Soccer!

Miss Isabel decided she would play soccer this year.  She played when she was in Kindergarten but when 1st grade sign ups came around she said she didn't want to play.  When I asked her why, she said..."It's just too much running!".  Then when sign ups came in second grade, she thought she might like it again.  Well, we signed her up and then she decided that she didn't want to play after all.  Practices hadn't even started yet so we let her quit.  Many of her friends were playing though and I think once the season really got started, she regretted her decision.  So here we are, a year later and  Izzy (as she's starting to use these days) is playing soccer in the third grade!  There is still a lot of running, which she's still not crazy about, but hey...she's playing!
