Will and I spent the weekend in KC. We really wanted to go home and spend the day with My mom and sister (as well as the rest of the fam) for their birthdays, but we decided to stay put and try to relax. They were meeting at Forrest Park for the Balloon Races on Saturday! How fun! Happy Birthday Mom and Katie!
It was a good weekend, I'm glad we stayed. Friday night was quiet. Saturday we ran some errands, grabbed some lunch and then the visited a very nice mass at St. Therese Parish. A very energetic visiting priest from Cross Catholic Outreach painted a vivid picture of what some parts of the world deal with everyday. I left there feeling alive and very lucky to be living the life I've been blessed with.
After mass we ran one more errand...in search of a wine glass for me and Evie & Mr. Cuddles (more Mike the Knight figurines) for Will. Unfortunately that took us to Wal-mart (not my favorite place)! Will was so excited that he had enough birthday money left to make his purchase. He has been so mature about spending his money. He found two Mike the Knight toys that he wanted but he didn't have enough money for both of them, so he decided to put the more expensive one back and get Evie unstead. I was prepared for a little fit...but nope! Thank you Mr. Will!
Sunday we were invited to have brunch with my cousin Michelle and her family. Thank you Michelle and Bruce for the wonderful meal and for being so welcoming. Will had a great time with Ben, Brandon and Miss Katie. They all played well together and even got to watch Mike the Knight! Will was a happy boy! After a wonderful meal we left Bruce at home and met some more cousins for an afternoon of fun! Jessica and Garrett as well as Jennifer and Michael were waiting for us at Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead. Will was excited when he saw the big red barn! What a great place to visit!

Will got pretty good at throwing food for the geese!
He also enjoyed watching the other kids feed the geese.
Here's the gang!
It was a great day! Thanks Jennifer, Jessica and Michelle for making us feel so at home in Kansas City!
Next weekend Phil and the kids are coming up on the train! I can't wait to see them! It's been fun to Skype, but it will be nice to actually spend some time together.
