Thursday- 1st week Dives 8 & 9

Dive # 8
The crew is back!  Mr. Will, Miss Josie, Mr. Ron, Mr. Doug, Mr. Mark and Grandma Linda and myself.  We watched Mickey Mouse and I got some reading in.  Linda and I have some pretty good conversations in that chamber, but today I was missing my reading time.  I started a new book, the last one just didn't grab my attention.  We'll see if this one does the trick!

After the dive we headed to Walmart.  I had a few things on my list that I didn't see at Target so I thought I would look here. Mr. Will is becoming quite the shopper.  He requested to push the cart right away.  He had a great time.

Look how comfortable he's getting.  He even stops to point out some items he thought were neat.

I love to see him let go of the cart and look so natural doing so!  Watch how he handles this turn.  He's getting to be a pro!  He's also getting to be a pushy director.  He just loves knowing he's on camera!

Dive # 9
After we left Walmart we had just enough time to grab a quick lunch at Rezzi before heading back to the spaceship!  Everyone is back again.  This dive will be Mr. Ron's last one.  It's always bittersweet to see a new friend graduate from the chamber.  I wish him well as he continues to regain strength and mobility after his stroke.

After the dive we headed back to the Rezzi.  Will wanted to try on a new shirt that we picked up at Wal-mart.  I told him he could check it out in the mirror.  This is what happened next.

I'm so proud of him!  He not only looked at himself in the mirror, but then turned to show all of "his friends".  Did you hear me make a beep sound like I had pressed the button to stop recording!  Little did he know I captured the best parts, when he didn't even know the video was running!

Will wanted a snack so I reminded him that I fixed a snack drawer for him...in the kitchen.

Way to go Will!  I raised his canes up a little bit.  He's getting so tall.  I guess they are the appropriate height, he didn't seem to notice it.  Now for that snack!

Now for the last video of the day.  Will is a picky, picky eater.  I have been trying (always) to get him to try new things.  So I thought I would use the videos to encourage some new "food challenges".  So far it's worked pretty well.  Keep in mind, he usually won't even touch it to his lips!  Tonight dinner was chicken nuggets (which he usually eats, but didn't want to tonight) and then something new.  Dr. Praeger's Broccoli Littles.  This child eats NO vegetables.  This is a very big deal that they are even on his plate!

So the veggies were a no go, but he did try them!  Yay Will!  He ended eating 2 chicken nuggets, but had didn't want to.  I told him for every nugget he could have a strawberry (he does love fruit).  I could still only get him to eat 2 but he had a pretty big snack earlier.  I'll take it!

The Final Week! A fun filled weekend with family and dives 27 &28

Happy Monday!  It's week 3.  We're almost finished.  Will is ready to go home.  He is missing his Daddy, (and he just saw him yesterday!). Phil and the kids came in Friday night and stayed until yesterday afternoon.  We filled the weekend with as much as we could!  Two movies (me and big kids), 3 dives (Will and his daddy), indoor skydiving (Ben and Isabel), and church (together!)!  Together again!  My kiddos!  Will's waving to the camera! All the happy divers...Phil, Grandma Linda, Mason (front and center!) Josie and Will! I had a fun surprise for Ben and Isabel!  Indoor Skydiving!  They LOVED it!  Score one for MOM!  It was fun to watch.  Will said he's going to do it next time!  I might just try it too!   They take you out once to let you figure it out and then give you a second flight to go much higher! The first video shows Isabel's first flight, the instructor said sh...

Hello Friday!!! Dives 36 and 37

Dive 36- Josie and Will.  Started the day with another dose and oxygen and Mickey Mouse! Our last solo workout in Miss Tiffany's gym.  We skipped the yoga today and went right for the stairs.  Will grabbed his canes and some friends and got started.  As he was walking it occurred to me how often I took for granted when Ben and Isabel went walking across the floor with toys in their hands.  Just think about that for a minute...then watch this video! He carried Mario and Luigi to the stairs.  I carried them up the stairs and then he proceeded to throw them down.  Typical kiddo! After getting hurled down the stairs now poor Mario has to be thrown in a hoop!  Poor guy! He threw all of Mario's friends in the basket too.   Then he made his way across the room to leave Miss Tiffany one last message.  He made it about halfway when he fell, but you know Will, he got right up and finished the job! I think Will enjoy...

Soccer!

Miss Isabel decided she would play soccer this year.  She played when she was in Kindergarten but when 1st grade sign ups came around she said she didn't want to play.  When I asked her why, she said..."It's just too much running!".  Then when sign ups came in second grade, she thought she might like it again.  Well, we signed her up and then she decided that she didn't want to play after all.  Practices hadn't even started yet so we let her quit.  Many of her friends were playing though and I think once the season really got started, she regretted her decision.  So here we are, a year later and  Izzy (as she's starting to use these days) is playing soccer in the third grade!  There is still a lot of running, which she's still not crazy about, but hey...she's playing!
